Brandon has been involved with livestock his whole life. Growing up in a ranching family, he was horseback from the time he was a small child. As he grew up, his love was ranching and roping. While working for some of the largest purebred cattle ranches, he honed both his roping and horsemanship skills. Long hours in the saddle, many times in less than ideal conditions, partnerships were formed with the animals. In 1998 he won the Oregon USTRC Championships. From there his competiveness grew and started to branch out into the show horse world.

As a Non-Pro competitor, Kris, was showing her own horses to Local and National titles and was behind the move to horse show competition. With a degree in Business Management and a lifetime of being with horses, she is the one that keeps the business side of things running smoothly.

After working for a local cow horse trainer, Brandon decided it was time to move forward and go to the best. In 2000, he went to work at Ward Ranch starting colts. The long days riding some great horses, introduced him to the traditional cowhorse style and training. He was hooked.

After leaving Ward Ranch, Brandon went to work for Leonard Whitney and had his first NRCHA show horse. While working at Whitney's, Brandon continued to hone his skills while riding with some of the best trainers in the Central California Valley. Aboard, Ima Telesis Too,  he became a finalist and event champion at the Fresno Pre-Futurity.

In 2003, Brandon and Kris decided to make a go of it on their own and moved to a ranch outside of Santa Maria. Although riding lots of "non-show" horses to get by, and starting some colts headed to the show pen, kept the business going, Brandon was still hoping for another great show horse. Never did he imagine the scrawny little horse dropped off to be started late in his two year old year would be the one to make such an impact on his career. Starlight Captain, affectionately known as "Goose" & Brandon would prove that consistant training methods paired with a talented and willing student would be the winning combination in the fall of 2004 at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. While Brandon felt he hadn't gotten Goose "shown" to his full potential, the pair made both the Intermediate and Open finals.
